why genie+ is worth it!
Everyone misses the FastPass system. Everyone wants it to come back. Did you know though that no one liked it when it first came out?
Now I agree, it stinks that Genie+ cost money, and FastPass used to be free. Did you know that over at Universal Studios though, their “skip the line” is a minimum of $89.99/person/day (and we won’t talk about it potentially going up to almost $380). Makes Genie+ seem like much more of a deal, even when the daily rate reaches $29/person/day.
So are you really going to spend thousands of dollars to go to the Disney parks, and then not do whatever it takes to maximize your time and enjoyment on your trip? Let’s look at the big reasons you need Genie+ on your next Disney vacation!
It helps you maximize your time
If you have worked with us, or talked with us, we often will use the phrase “winning Disney” or “winning your day.” What we generally mean by this is, did you maximize your time. Not necessarily, did you ride every ride, but did you accomplish everything you wanted to accomplish within your day at the parks? Did you leave the park feeling satisfied that you got every pennies worth of value out of your day?
Genie+ makes this all the more possible. A recent study was done showing that the attractions at Disney World have an average standby time between 45 and 60 minutes. Using Genie+ for just three attractions will save you up to three hours of time. Knowing which attractions to utilize Genie+ for, and which ones to go ahead and wait on, will save you even more time throughout your day.
Now we are talking more than four hours of time saved in your day. Why would you not spend the money to save at least four hours of time? Are you worried you won’t know the ins and outs? That’s why you are working with DDWK Travel. We got you, and we are here to help you maximize your time!
It helps you prioritize
We just talked about knowing what attractions to use Genie+ on, and which ones to go ahead and wait on. You actually have the ability to set priorities within the app. Those attractions will pop up at the very top. We won’t sugar coat it. You are on vacation, but this is going to require some work. It’s hot, it can get stressful, and you are just trying to do your best to snag those E-ticket attractions (the best of the best). Have to search or scroll to find them is just going to waste your time, frustrate you, and probably lead to you missing out.
Again, DDWK Travel is here to help you navigate how to set-up your Genie+ experience to ensure you know exactly how to handle things from the jump. Your day will be much less stressful when your prioritize what is important to you.
It helps make sure you don’t miss your favorite things
And what is important to you? Those attractions that you love! The ones that are near and dear to your heart! Sometimes it isn’t always about the rides that have the longest time.
Don’t get me wrong, we usually prioritize Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom, but I love Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (I am a Galactic Hero after all). I don’t want to miss that one! Peter Pan is super popular, and always has a long wait, but I’d rather have Dumbo the Flying Elephant or even It’s a Small World. Why? Those are important to me. They usually only have a 30 minute wait, but I don’t want to miss those, especially right now while the kids are small.
These are all important to me, and I would not feel like I “won Disney” if I missed out on those while at Magic Kingdom. Then again, that is why we always recommend a 2nd day at Magic Kingdom.
It makes your life easier
In summary, Genie+ makes your life easier, but you are going to pay for that convenience. Think of it as having a premium ticket for the day. You can maximize your time, saving at least four hours each day at the parks, you are going to be less stressed while at the parks, and you won’t miss out on your favorite things.
I understand for a family a four, going down to the parks for four days, this could potentially add over $500 to your trip. That is a lot. I can tell you this though, just budget for it. If that means dropping from Deluxe to moderate or moderate to value…do it. If that means dropping Park Hoppers for Genie+…do it.
Just like staying on Disney property makes for a more enjoyable experience. Having Genie+ will also make for a much more enjoyable experience.
