Character Meal Review: Crystal Palace (Breakfast)

Crystal Palace’s character breakfast is known for two things. They have Winnie the Pooh, and they have churro Mickey waffles.

Overview

Crystal Palace is located in Magic Kingdom, just beyond Main Street USA. As you pass Casey’s Corner, you hang a left, and you can’t miss it. (This is also the same way you will want to take to hit up some of the least used bathrooms at Magic Kingdom.)

This is an all-you-can eat buffet, so you can definitely gets your money’s worth. We can’t say we would recommend this since you are still at Magic Kingdom, and if you are there for breakfast, you probably have a full theme park day ahead of you.

However, with a price tag of $35/child and $60/adult, it will be very tempting to stuff your face until you can’t eat anymore. At those prices though, this is an EXCELLENT use of a table service dining credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Characters

The characters at Crystal Palace’s breakfast were some of your favorite characters from the 100 acre woods. Winnie the Pooh, Tiger, Piglet, and Eeyore.

You will see all the characters come around, and they will all spend time and take pictures with you at your table.

Piglet, and the cast member hanging out with Piglet were by far the best interaction. They were both very exited that our daughter had created her own signature book, and that they wanted Piglet to sign it.

There is also a little song and dance the characters come out and perform. The characters split up for this. Tiger and Eeyore on one side. Pooh and Piglet on the other side. This isn’t really an interactive dance and parade. Just them walking through and waving to everyone.

Food

Crystal Palace may be known for their churro Mickey waffles, that wasn’t what took the crown as the best item at the buffet.

This is a true breakfast buffet, with all the staples you would expect to find. Eggs, pancakes, Mickey waffles, churro Mickey waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, bacon, sausage, pastries, cerreal, donut holes (that was exciting!)

However, the most underrated item on this menu, which I have never heard anyone talk about, was the chocolate chip french toast. This was absolutely delicious. Hands down, the best item on the menu. It crushed the churro Mickey waffles.

With that said though. It was extremely heavy, and I knew that I couldn’t eat much, with a full day of Magic Kingdom ahead of us.

Overall

It was a little stressful when we arrived, and this always seems to happen to us, but as we were being seated, a character was standing there just staring and waiting for us. This just happened to be Winnie the Pooh, and that was our only interaction with him, and that was a little disappointing.

I would like to see Disney skip over families as they are being seated. This has consistently happened to us though, and I am sure we are not the only ones.

This stressful moment somewhat set the tone for the meal, as it just seemed to somewhat set the tone for our experience.

The parade was also a bit of a surprise for us, as half of the party had already left. Being at Magic Kingdom, and trying to maximize our day, our priority wasn’t sitting and waiting for characters, but getting back to the park.

Overall, I can’t say this would be a character meal we would necessarily recommend. While it only cost one table service credit, it is very pricey if you aren’t using the Disney Dining Plan. Even if you are, there are better character meals to use this credit on, and they come with better quality food. Again though, that chocolate chip french toast was on point.

In the end, since you are sacrificing time in the park on top of all of this, unless you and your children really want to make sure you meet Pooh, Tiger, Eeyore, and/or Piglet, this is one we are going to suggest you pass on.

That is just how we feel though. Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below.
